This is my corner for sharing personal essays and musings on subjects relating to womanhood and sexuality, and the darkness that often accompanies the delicateness of being. I frame this darkness through the perspective of “Haunted Girl” archetypes, as a shorthand for the different flavors of melancholy attached to my lived womanly experience.
I used to have a Tumblr, which basically functioned as a stream-of-consciousness online diary. I’ve now graduated to oversharing on the internet in neater and more polished form. I am striving for intimacy, enlightenment and catharsis through this platform and can only hope at least some of it will resonate with another wanderer of the void…
Essays are not posted on any set schedule, but I’m currently aiming to post at least twice a month. Occasionally, I release Interludes: supplemental pieces such as poems, reviews or vignettes that are complements to my weekly posts. These are not shared on any set schedule.
If you’re chronically online, a masochist or a lover of horror, a hopeless (or hopeful!) romantic, burdened by existentialism and possibly a little delusional, you might like it here.

My name is Lana (rhymes with Anna, Banana, Hannah Montana…)
I’m in my thirties (‘94) - I’m a Leo Sun (Virgo Rising / Taurus Moon) and birthdays are kind of my favorite holiday.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I’m West Indian, from St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I try to visit often.
I am hyper feminine and I like that about me! I love pink, I wear heels & dresses 90% of the time, I’m a makeup enthusiast, really into arts and crafts, and I keep a diary! Being a girl is the best.
My personal style leans alternative. I wear lots of bright colors and pastels. I am largely inspired by kawaii fashion, princess-core and cottage-core. Essentially, every day I get dressed and do my best to look like a fairy princess or a cartoon character or a walking rainbow.
I’m bisexual, and I write a lot about sexuality. Not specifically about being bisexual though, but just about the nature of desire in general as it pertains to me.
I’m an eldest daughter, with five younger siblings.
I make collage art and zines!
I love etymology.
I love stationery and memory keeping! I keep a sticker collection (never to be used), a digital planner, a digital scrapbook, and tons of super cute journals and paper supplies.
I’m not here to write pretentious essays where I pretend to be better than you. I write about my experiences, or to share commentary on social trends I observe. Maybe you relate, maybe you learn something. Maybe you stick around. ✨
